Design Week at the AIGA Design Conference

I was so energized and excited after my visit to the Poster House Museum in NYC. Curator Angelina Lippert showed us around some very rare original prints from the 1910’s-1930’s. The size, the color and just the boldness and energy sort of worked on me ;-)

A Busy Week at the Studio

I’m pretty lucky to have such a busy studio. There’s always something going on. I’ve been so busy just filling orders—which I get extra help to do a couple of days a week. Shipping days are Monday, Wednesday and Friday, that way we stay up on everything.

I try to set Tuesday and Thursday aside for just designing, reading or taking photos. That usually holds but sometimes I only get a half day if there are errands. Then there’s new design work to do, like new Garden Signs or a new Sticker. I also have a couple of special client projects going at any given time, which I try to give attention to on design days. There’s a new calendar in the works as well.

I didn’t even mention that I paint too. I have about ten panels that I painted as posters that I’m working on a bit by bit. Pulling up to the easel is a way to get away from the computer and get in touch with the magic of art materials again. Makes for a great break.

Packing benches are set on wheels so they can be stowed when in Gallery Mode.

In the thick of it. We really are not messy—there’s just a lot going on. Orders are being picked and assembled here in Packing Mode.
